This kevlar main on the Nordic 40 "Wild Goose" represents 1989 state of the art. The sail
has kevlar only in the leech, and a small piece acting as a catinary across the foot, while the remainder
of the material is a mylar-polyester laminate. Today we are convinced that kevlar sails work best if
the structural material does not change across the sail,
as it does in this main.
