HPX Technology:
The fabric allows moisture vapor from inside the suit to “breathe” out,
while stopping any sea or rainwater getting in. This is achieved by having microscopic
holes in the membrane, large enough to let water vapor out, but much too small to let
water droplets in. To stop the micropores becoming clogged by contamination an oleophobic,
or oil-repelling chemical, is integrated into the GORE-TEX membrane.
Laminated to the Ocean Technology membrane are inner and outer fabrics. The outer
fabric is a hardwearing woven nylon to give the overall fabric the strength that is
required. The inner fabric provides protection for the membrane against abrasion.

Stretch HPX Technology:
Stretch HPX uses a stretch GORE-TEX Ocean Technology membrane in a three layer laminated fabric which is exclusive
to Musto. This revolutionary fabric has an elasticity of 30%. The result is the least restrictive, most breathable
fabric for foul weather gear available. |

 |
Carbon HPX Gore-Tex Technology:
Polymer dots (with an elemental carbon backbone) are applied to the GORE-TEX membrane
to produce a fabric that is at least 16% more breathable than HPX Ocean Technology fabric.
When combined with a durable nylon shell this membrane produces a GORE-TEX laminate
that offers the unique qualities of lightweight maneuverability and flexibility together
with typical GORE-TEX fabric durability as well

MPX Gore-Tex Technology:
Laminated between inner and outer materials it creates an extremely durable, waterproof
and highly breathable fabric. MPX GORE-TEX products are ideal for offshore and coastal
racing and cruising. The MPX GORE-TEX Drysuit is ideal for dinghy and keelboat racing. |

Breathable Waterproof Fabrics:
Another range of breathable fabrics available are our hydrophilic fabrics
which transfer water vapor from one side of the fabric to the other through a chemical
process. |

GORE-TEX® FABRIC & MUSTO:
GORE-TEX FABRIC TECHNOLOGY
The original breathable GORE-TEX fabric uses the standard GORE-TEX membrane. We’ve
bonded an outer layer of durable, woven nylon to it and created a material that’s
an excellent choice for the shell of Middle Layer garments.
WINDSTOPPER FABRIC
This is a windproof and breathable microporous ePTFE membrane which is laminated to
a second fabric, such as fleece used in the Middle Layer WINDSTOPPER Jacket and Salopettes.
The result is a fabric with two and a half times better thermal insulation than a conventional
non-laminated fleece.
DWR (Durable Water Repellency)
All Musto outer garments and some Middle Layer clothing are treated with a hydrophobic
(water repellent) coating. This causes the water to bead, just as it would on a newly
polished car, and run off without soaking into the fabric.
